Commercially, Megan has cast over 3,000 spots, including projects for: Radio Shack, AT & T, Chevy, Coors Light, American Express, McDonalds, Claritin and Chrysler, just to name a few. She has worked with most of the major and minor Ad Agencies and many great Directors …and one who was not so great. Though commercials have become her true passion, Megan has cast several prominent theatrical projects including the popular family television series “Fudge” for Steven Spielberg and the motion picture “Problem Child 3,” among a list of countless other independent features.
Aside from actively casting multiple projects on regular basis, Megan also enjoys teaching and has recently developed several new lecture and discussion “forums” for Directors, Producers, and Film Students. Traveling across the country, Megan teaches production staff how to best utilize their Casting Directors, and easy things they can do ahead of time to make pre-production run more smoothly (at least on the talent end). These speaking engagements are in addition to her popular monthly Commercial Intensive for Actors, which has grown to be one of the most highly recommended classes for Actors in all of Los Angeles; and has also proven to be a great resource for her as a Casting Director.
Megan has served as the Secretary for the Commercial Casting Directors Association for the past 8 years and also writes an advice column in the Casting Networks monthly newsletter. She is also the resident Casting Director and Director of Education for the Lake Arrowhead Repertory Theatre Company.
Despite being constantly surrounded by the entertainment world, one of her favorite things is simply going to the movies. “Sometimes,” she confesses, “It doesn’t even have to be great, as long as I am in a big dark room with a big screen, a bowl of popcorn and a cold diet coke.”
In her small bits of free time, she enjoys cooking, throwing dinner parties, sharing a nice bottle of wine with her husband Chuck, and going on adventures with her sons Lucas and Matthew. Every Thanksgiving she makes dinner for 25 of her closest friends and family members (who still nag her about getting a “real” job, as she passes the turkey).
